JOB DESCRIPTIONCluster ManagerReporting to \xe2\x80\x93 Head, Production & OperationsUrban Farms Co. (UFCo) is growing to be the largest producer and supplier of regenerative organic vegetables in NCR and rapidly expanding to other cities namely, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Post the success of Araku Coffee, the team with 20+ years of experience in regenerative organic agriculture, focused on developing a first of its kind regenerative organic ecosystem for farmers. This model of UFCo was awarded as a visionary food system by Rockefeller foundation, New York in 2020. UFCo is creating multiple Regenerative Agriculture Clusters (RACs) across the country enabling farmers to move to this new form of agriculture that is a win-win for the environment, farmer and consumers. The model is also carbon positive and uses local organic biomass to create high quality farm inputs.UFCo uses a Hub and spoke model to grow organic vegetables. The RACs act like a Hub while we engage network farmers in around the vicinity of the Hub to produce organic vegetables via a contract farming route. All the input materials plus scientific knowledge is provided by UFCo and the farmers follow a strict SOP to ensure quality produce. UFCo provides 100% buy back at a premium price to the farmers (based on quality).UFCO has an annual capacity to produce 15000T of organic compost and produces other bio-inputs that cater to the need of the partner farmers.UFCo has already set up RACs in Delhi, Hyderabad and Pune & auxillary clusters in Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.It has set up an extensive supply chain network across all zones comprising of multiple collection centers, a distribution center in NCR and logistics for last mile distribution. The network will further expand to cater to multiple cities from multiple supply points.its partner farmer operations. The team at cluster will report to this position.JD \xe2\x80\x93

Head production & operations for the cluster.

Responsible for production planning, logistics and customer delivery metrics in the cluster.

Work very closely with the sales team to get the market forecast and plan production to provide continuous supply of SKUs as needed by the consumers

Execute contracting farming activity with the network farmers, in compliance with UFCO practices.

Mobilise and finalise suitable farmers, which are roped in by Contract farming staff, motivate, train & guide them for taking up regenerative organic production as per UFCo protocols

Monitor all farming activities to ensure that practices are followed and no chemical usage is carried out

Manage activities of collection centre at each RAC\xe2\x80\x93 receiving vegetables from network farmers, sorting grading and storage. Location : Alipur,DelhiThe role of the incumbent will be to lead production & back end operations at the Delhi cluster andTotal team strength : 10-12

Ensure produce quality and work closely with operations teams to supply produce to the Collection centre / Distribution Centre

Plan the RAC level input production as per the vegetable production plans

Work with technical teams to execute practices as per the latest science in regenerative agriculture, as well as provide feedback from the field to the technical Centre of Excellence

Budget planning and cost optimization of all activities

Explore opportunities for expanding across multiple locations in the same region.Qualification / Skills Required:

Post-graduation or graduation in Agriculture with 8-10 year of experience in working with farmers at the ground level.

However, graduate / post graduate in any other discipline with relevant experience of around 10 + years in managing Regional level Agri / F&V/ contract farming operations across leading organisations. Prior experience of organic / natural farming is preferred.

Good communication skills in English, Hindi & local language ( Telugu)

Good people management skills, having worked as a team leader with direct reports.

Proficiency in computer skills (Excel, word & PowerPoint) & working knowledge of ERP systems.
