Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial and HR business services to all business areas within the company.
ROLE PURPOSE: The Cloud Data Engineer works on wide variety of business-critical, high-profile projects for internal customers and manufacturing locations, and helps them solve their data engineering, ML engineering problems, and leverage the ever-evolving cloud platform based on MS Azure
Responsibilities:

• Design and build robust, scalable, secure batch and streaming analytics pipelines, data platforms, and enterprise data lake solutions
• Cover the whole product development lifecycle starting from performing PoCs to integrate and deploy modern BI & analytics solutions into production
• Work as a technical expert alongside business process owners, product owners, DevOps, ML and infrastructure engineers to figure out how to reach business objective targets
• Represent the voice for data product developers internally and influence our service offerings and data product strategy by working with cloud platform team and other cross-functional teams

Work Experience: 3+ years building and maintaining end-to-end data systems and supporting services in cloud.
Industry Experience: Working experience in Manufacturing industry is a plus
Education: BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience.
Licensing/Certification: MS Azure Data Engineer Associate or Expert Certificate is a plus
Functional Knowledge: Passion for producing high quality Data Products and Solutions. Intellectual curiosity and passion for learning new technologies. Good collaboration skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Technical Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, Spark (PySpark)
• Experience working with large data sets and Big Data technologies (Azure Databricks, Hadoop, Snowflake)
• Solid understanding of underlying data warehousing requirements, data modeling, data integrity, data orchestration (Azure Data Factory), data operations (dml, ddl)
• Experience working with MS / Azure SQL DBs and Azure Data Lake using Delta engine
• Experience with metadata-driven data platform design

Language: Fluency in English
People Management: Considered as plus but not mandatory
Project Management: Knowledge of Agile Methodology
Change Management: Understanding of CM concept
Customer: Customer oriented through striving to understand business needs and through providing with appropriate solutions
Vendor: Negotiation and Relationship management with Vendor
