Clinical Psychologists
The Bharosa Clinical Psychologist plays the key role of providing psychological, therapeutic and clinical counselling services and guidance to the women and children who are victims of grave sexual offences. This is a crucial role in supporting survivors through their healing journey, requiring specialized skills, knowledge, and experience in trauma-focused mental health care. They also provide need-based referral services. Key roles included the following:
1. Drafting of client case history
2. Conducting Individual /Group Counselling involving the client and family members/ other stakeholders addressing trauma and emotional well-being.
3. Conduct psychological assessments to understand the impact of trauma, diagnose mental health conditions, and develop appropriate treatment plans.
4. Offer crisis intervention and immediate psychological support to survivors in distress.
5. Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each survivor, incorporating evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
6. Implementing appropriate therapies on a need basis.
7. Take absolute ownership across the client lifecycle and shall follow the prescribed code of ethics, guidelines, and protocols in providing counselling services.
8. Work collaboratively with other professionals at Bharosa, including legal advisors, medical professionals, and support staff, to ensure holistic care for survivors.
9. Provide psychoeducation to survivors and their families, empowering them with information on coping strategies, mental health, and the recovery process.
10. Depending on the case load at the centre, the Clinical Psychologist will also take part in / anchor awareness activities in the community.

Qualification
Should be:
1. MSW
2. Post Graduation in Clinical Psychology
Age
Should be not less than 21 years not more than 55 years of age as on date of application
Gender
Female (only)
Experience
Should have not less than 60 months of relevant experience in rendering psycho-social-clinical counseling to Women/Children.
Should have substantial clinical experience, preferably in a setting that involves trauma-focused therapy, sexual assault counseling, or similar work and should have handled at least 100 relevant clients and not less than 200 counseling sessions.
Preference will be accorded to candidates with past experience of counseling victims of violence/Trauma Counseling
Candidates who are working in Medical/Social Sector / NGO in the field of Women and Child will be given preference.
Experience collaborating with professionals from different disciplines, such as legal advisors, medical practitioners, and support staff.
The applicants should have the above-mentioned experience as part of her most recent or immediate past job role.
Note:
The position is not applicable for School, College or Agency career counselors etc.
Knowledge Areas
Should have working knowledge of important laws pertaining to Rape and POCSO Act 2012.
Knowledge of guidelines, rules and case laws in connection with the above will be a definite advantage.
In-depth knowledge of trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the impact of sexual violence on mental health.
Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities, staying updated on the latest research and advancements in the field.
Understanding of legal and ethical considerations related to confidentiality, mandatory reporting, and the rights of survivors.
Knowledge of crisis intervention protocols and strategies to address acute psychological distress.
Skill Sets
Knowledge of imparting Psycho-Social-Clinical Counseling
Knowledge of imparting Trauma Counseling
Handson knowledge of Therapies: proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
Clear understanding of various Counseling Techniques.
Should have Keyboard skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with survivors, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Documentation- Should be able to draft activity and incident reports in English.
Should be Technology Literate (Operating Computers, Printing, Xeroxing, Scanning, Recording, basic photography and videography, web based research etc.)
Knowledge of working on computers is a must. All case related data has to be fed to computerized formats, and hence, keyboard skills and functional knowledge of computers is mandatory.
Good in Interpersonal Communication
Ability to work in a Team
Languages
Should be fluent in Telugu, English & Hindi. For Greater Hyderabad, knowledge of Urdu is mandatory for some centres.
Work Location
The Clinical Psychologist will be working out of the assigned Bharosa Centre in the District/Commissionerate.
Days of Work
Centre will be operational 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday. The position is required to be available on a need basis on off days and public holidays based on client needs.
Compensation
The remuneration is INR 35,000/- per month. There is a provision for an annual performance-based increase of up to 7% as per currently approved guidelines on salary and not allowance. This is based on availability of budgetary allocations and project continuance as well.
Initial Tenure
The initial outsourcing contract will be for a period of 1 year. The position has an initial probation of 6 months. Annual performance appraisals and continuance of budgetary sanctions will determine continuity of service, year on year.
