Job Description

The Community Health Division of Bangalore Baptist Hospital, in collaboration with the Department for the Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens, Government of Karnataka, is seeking a dedicated female Psychologist to join the District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC) , based in Devanahalli .

Qualifications:

• MSc in Psychology from a recognized university
• Proficiency in Kannada (reading and writing) and English
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the NGO sector or related field

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide early intervention and rehabilitation support
• Conduct mental health assessments and interventions
• Manage de-addiction programs
• Use IQ assessment tools such as BKT, BATIA, and the Seguin form board
• Assess client behavior and needs through observation, interviews, and psychometric tests
• Screen for developmental disorders and delays; plan suitable interventions
• Conduct field and home visits
• Organize awareness and training programs
• Prepare detailed case stories for record-keeping and reporting
• Provide counseling for parents and families of children with special needs

Additional Requirements:

• Strong communication skills in Kannada and English
• Ability to travel within the region for field visits
• Compassion and commitment to improving the lives of differently-abled individuals
