Solis Health is India's first comprehensive cancer advisory center and navigation program. Solis offers personalized services for cancer patients and their families by supplementing clinical interventions with psycho-oncology, nutrition, and general wellness support services (detailed below) to help patients, caregivers and families cope and navigate the difficult world of care. Description of position : Oncology Nutritionist provide nutritional consultation and prescribe Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), which is evidence-based, and to counsel people to achieve and maintain good health to cancer patients across the continuum of the cancer experience including primary prevention, cancer treatment, secondary prevention, cancer recurrence and palliative care. The role may extend beyond the boundaries of clinical nutrition into areas to facilitate excellence in integrated, holistic health care in order to improve outcomes for the members which promote their wellbeing.

Essential Functions :

• Implement nutrition screening system for cancer patients undergoing active treatment.
• Provide individualized nutrition assessments, counseling and nutrition recommendations based on patients' specific therapies and nutrition needs.
• Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team patient-care rounds for acute-care cancer patients.
• Provide ongoing nutrition classes for patients and in- services for staff addressing nutrition topics and research pertinent to cancer patients.
• Collaborate with other health professionals as appropriate and develop nutrition education and resource materials as needed.
• Attend education programs to maintain status as effective and knowledgeable resource regarding patients' nutrition needs. Standards of professional practice Leadership
• Provide leadership and direction to clinical nutrition staff, dietetics interns and comprehensive cancer-center faculty regarding nutrition needs of oncology patients. Unique body of knowledge
• Maintain in-depth body of knowledge of food and human nutrition unique to cancer and its treatment, and integrate this knowledge with that from other disciplines, including health and social sciences, education, communication and management. Continued competence

• Accept referrals from clients, family members and health-care providers. Nutrition care process
• Collaborate with other health-care professionals to ensure nutrition screening mechanism is consistently identifying patients at risk. Provide nutrition interventions in a proactive manner that may include assessment (considering diagnosis, treatment, other co-morbidities, diet history, physical examination, laboratory data, medications, clinical symptoms, and psychosocial, cultural and educational factors affecting nutritional status), client centered goals, appropriate follow-up and communication with interdisciplinary team members. • Conduct counseling and/or education sessions utilizing appropriate interpersonal and communication skills. o Advise clients and/or community groups of the availability of nutrition education programs and resources. Continuity of care
• Work in partnership with health-care team and com- munity resources to provide continuity of nutrition services for clients and their families across the cancer continuum Administrative responsibilities
• Establish priorities for nutrition-care delivery based on urgency and complexity of nutrition interventions.
• Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the nutrition services provided to cancer patients. Assist with administering clinical nutrition cancer-program budget.
• The individual will proactively develop the clinical nutrition services by meeting KOL's in oncology and other specialties, meet with them and build connections Health-care team members with the industry.
• Provide oncology nutrition knowledge and expertise to the health-care team. Incorporate the role of nutrition services into the care pathways of relevant tumor site teams. Advocate for nutrition services within comprehensive cancer care. Act as client advocates. Community liaison
• Identify appropriate community partnerships. Ensure that the progression of client care into the community is seamless and respectful of client well-being and governmental policies. Research environment
• Develop linkages within comprehensive cancer center, as well as other cancer facilities and research organizations to perform or collaborate to conduct oncology nutrition research. Identify and develop research-based policies, procedures, and clinical pathways as a basis for nutrition care. Critically evaluate and apply research findings into clinical practice. Education and training
• Actively participate in facility-based continuing education and training activities regarding oncology issues and practices. Provide needs-based education programs within the dietetics community and among health professionals to promote quality oncology nutrition care. Supervise and mentor RDs and other Knowledge, skills and abilities should have:
• Solid knowledge of clinical nutrition with emphasis on nutrition needs of cancer patients.
• Excellent counseling skills and the ability to relate to a multi-ethnic community and varied learning levels.
• Ability and interest in developing and implementing nutrition education programs, developing tools to measure needs of patients and quality of services.
• Strong interpersonal skills to establish productive working relationships with multidisciplinary team providing patients comprehensive care and with sup- port of service departments.
• Basic working knowledge of computer usage in the workplace and good verbal/writing skills.
• Knowledge of the Nutrition Care Process as it relates to the nutrition needs of cancer patients and ability to apply all steps of the process.
• Knowledge of the Assessment, Data, Intervention, Monitoring and Evaluation (ADIME) charting format or willingness to learn format.

Qualifications and Registrations

• Master's degree in food science, nutrition and dietetics recognized by the Indian Dietetic Association
• Diploma in Dietetics and Nutrition with Pass in RD Board Examination and acknowledged by RD Board. o RD number -

Preferable Experience: - At least 6- 8 years as a dietician in a hospital / clinical setting. - Preferable to have oncology and or experience of other chronic conditions.

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?60,000.00 per month
