Job Description

Audiologists are healthcare professionals who specialize in diagnosing, managing, and treating hearing and balance disorders. Their duties include:

• Conducting Hearing Tests:
• Administering a variety of hearing tests to assess hearing loss, speech comprehension, and middle ear function. This may include pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, tympanometry, and otoacoustic emissions tests.
• Diagnosing Hearing and Balance Disorders:
• Identifying hearing loss, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), vertigo, and other balance-related conditions. They may use diagnostic equipment like audiometers and electrocochleography.
• Recommending Hearing Aids and Assistive Devices:
• Providing recommendations for hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other assistive listening devices. Audiologists fit and program these devices to meet the individual needs of patients.
• Counseling and Education:
• Offering guidance to patients and their families about hearing loss and effective communication strategies. They educate patients about hearing protection, device usage, and how to manage their condition.
• Providing Rehabilitation:
• Rehabilitating patients who have experienced hearing loss, using auditory training, speechreading (lip reading), and auditory-verbal therapy.
• Performing Balance Assessments:
• Assessing and treating balance disorders caused by inner ear issues or vestibular disorders. They may use tests like videonystagmography (VNG) to evaluate balance function.
• Developing and Implementing Treatment Plans:
• Collaborating with patients to create personalized treatment plans that address their hearing and balance needs. This includes monitoring the effectiveness of interventions.
• Monitoring Changes in Hearing:
• Regularly evaluating patients with progressive hearing loss or conditions like tinnitus to adjust treatments and devices as needed.
• Collaborating with Other Healthcare Providers:
• Working with other medical professionals (ENT specialists, neurologists, and speech therapists) to ensure comprehensive care for patients with hearing or balance disorders.
• Documenting and Maintaining Patient Records:
• Keeping accurate, up-to-date records of patient evaluations, treatments, and progress for medical, legal, and insurance purposes.
• Research and Continuing Education:
• Keeping abreast of advancements in audiology practices, technology, and research through ongoing education, attending conferences, and engaging in clinical research.

Audiologists play a crucial role in improving patients' quality of life by addressing hearing and balance issues that can affect communication and daily functioning.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?36,333.43 per month
