Role OverviewThe Climate smart agriculture (CSA) specialist will play a key role in project design and provide technical expertise and strategic advice on climate-smart adaptation strategies in the agricultural sector. It includes support to implementation of CSA practices to enhance agricultural resilience. Responsibilities

Provide technical guidance and advice on CSA practices, technologies, and innovations that enhance agricultural resilience to climate change impacts, such as improved water management, soil conservation, agroforestry systems, crop diversification etc.

Collaborate with relevant organizations, research institutions, and government agencies to foster partnerships, exchange knowledge, and leverage resources for CSA adaptation initiatives.

Coordinate with internal teams and stakeholder management.

Develop and implement adaptation plans, considering climate projection scenarios and socioeconomic factors along with the Climate Resilience Cell, Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Odisha.

Conduct capacity building programs and workshops to enhance the capacity of farmers, SHGs, and other stakeholders in implementing CSA practices and adapting to climate change.

Contribute to the dissemination of best practices, lessons learned, and research findings related to CSA adaptation through reports, publications, and participation in meetings and workshops.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Agriculture science or Agriculture engineering

Experience

At least 8 to 10 years' experience in CSA practices

• Strong knowledge of climate change science and its impact on agriculture, coupled with an understanding of CSA principles, practices, and technologies

Experience in designing and implementing capacity-building programs.

Skill Set

• Proficiency in data analysis, monitoring, and evaluation to assess project impacts
• Understanding of policy processes and ability to provide inputs for the development of agricultural policies and strategies.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and with team

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?500,000.00 - ?1,200,000.00 per year
