CIVIL ENGINEER JOB DESCRIPTION

As a civil engineer with 4-5 years of experience,
you will play a key role in the planning, design, and implementation of various
civil engineering projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects
are completed safely, within budget, and according to specifications.
Additionally, you will be expected to provide technical expertise, guidance,
and leadership to junior engineers and project teams.

Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Design:

• Collaborate with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
• Prepare feasibility studies, conceptual designs, and cost estimates for proposed projects.
• Utilize engineering software and tools to design structural elements, transportation systems, water and wastewater treatment facilities, or other infrastructure projects.

2. Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure that all projects comply with relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental standards.
• Obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory agencies.

3. Construction Oversight:

• Provide technical support during the construction phase, including reviewing plans, specifications, and contractor submittals.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, quality, and safety compliance.
• Address any design changes or unforeseen challenges that arise during construction.

4. Project Management:

• Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Track project milestones and deliverables to ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet project objectives.

5. Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC):

• Implement QA/QC procedures to ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards.
• Perform design reviews and inspections to identify and resolve potential issues.

6. Client Relationship Management:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and maintain regular communication to address concerns and provide project updates.
• Identify opportunities for additional services and contribute to business development efforts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Master's degree may be preferred for certain roles.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or willingness to obtain.
• 4-5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on project design and management.
• Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SAP2000, or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.

Additional Requirements:

• Willingness to travel to project sites and attend meetings with clients and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices and green building principles may be advantageous.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and best practices.
