Job Description

A procurement engineer typically needs a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field. Hands-on experience in procurement or a related area like supply chain management is often necessary. Familiarity with manufacturing materials and components and knowledge of industry regulations is crucial for success in this role.

Experience

• A minimum of 3-5 years in procurement or a closely related field
• Prior experience with vendor management
• Demonstrated ability in contract negotiation
• Previous involvement in cost-reduction initiatives



• Identify potential suppliers and maintain relationships with current ones. Evaluate and choose suppliers based on various factors, including cost, quality, reliability, and compliance.
• Skillfully negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers, encompassing price, payment terms, and delivery schedules, to secure favorable agreements.
• Create, oversee, and manage purchase orders, ensuring they are accurate and complete. Monitor and track purchase orders throughout the procurement process.
• Conduct cost analyses and comparisons to determine the most cost-efficient suppliers and products while upholding quality standards.
• Continuously evaluate supplier performance, addressing any issues or concerns related to quality, timeliness, or other relevant factors.
• Ensure that all procurement activities conform to company policies and relevant laws and regulations, including ethical sourcing and sustainability considerations.
• Collaborate with Human Resource teams to optimize inventory levels and minimize excess or obsolete stock.
• Maintain precise records of all procurement activities, encompassing contracts, invoices, and receipts.
• Implement cost control strategies to reduce procurement expenses while maintaining product quality and nurturing supplier relationships.
