Job profile:We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Manager in Civil Engineering with experience in industrial projects to join our team for an exciting opportunity at our Green Hydrogen Plant. As the Assistant Manager - Civil Engineering, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the design, construction, and maintenance of civil infrastructure necessary for the successful operation of the hydrogen plant. Experience in hydrogen plant projects is preferred but not mandatory.Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution: Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets for civil engineering activities. Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Civil Design and Engineering: Oversee the design and engineering of civil structures, foundations, roads, drainage systems, and utilities required for the hydrogen plant. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Contract Management: Participate in the procurement process, review bids from contractors, and negotiate contracts. Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
Construction Supervision: Provide on-site supervision during the construction phase, ensuring that civil works are executed according to the approved designs, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
Quality Assurance and Control: Implement quality assurance and control measures to verify the quality of construction materials and workmanship. Conduct inspections and tests to identify and rectify any deficiencies.
Safety and Compliance: Promote a culture of safety on-site, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies. Identify and mitigate potential hazards associated with civil construction activities.
Cost Management: Monitor project expenditures and identify opportunities to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards. Prepare cost estimates, track project expenses, and report variances to senior management.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project documentation, including drawings, specifications, contracts, and correspondence. Prepare progress reports and presentations for project stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in civil engineering or a related field. Master\'s degree is a plus.
Proven experience of 5-9 years in civil engineering roles, with a focus on industrial or infrastructure projects. Experience in hydrogen plant projects is preferred but not mandatory.
Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and materials.
Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Revit.
Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ACI, ASTM, AISC) applicable to civil construction projects.
Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan, organise, and prioritise tasks effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
