Job Title: Civil 3D Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• Custom Development & Automation:

o Design, develop, and implement custom features, tools, and workflows for Civil

3D using .NET (C#, VB.NET) and AutoCAD APIs (ObjectARX, Civil 3D SDK).

o Automate design processes, streamline data management, and eliminate

repetitive tasks to boost productivity and efficiency across engineering workflows.

• System Integration & Data Management:

o Build and maintain seamless integrations between Civil 3D and other platforms,

such as GIS systems and databases, to enable smooth data exchange and

interoperability.

o Leverage document management systems like Autodesk Vault to optimize data

organization, version control, and collaboration across teams.

• User Support & Training:

o Provide comprehensive support to end-users, troubleshooting issues, and

continuously enhancing the functionality of custom tools.

o Create detailed training materials, conduct hands-on workshops, and guide users

through new workflows, ensuring smooth adoption of tools and features.

• Collaboration & Requirements Gathering:

o Work closely with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand

project needs and translate them into actionable, effective technical solutions.

o Stay ahead of the curve by keeping up with the latest Civil 3D updates and

Autodesk advancements to ensure implementation of best practices and cutting edge solutions.

• Testing & Quality Assurance:

o Lead rigorous testing and debugging efforts to ensure custom solutions are

reliable, high-performing, and meet the defined requirements.

o Implement robust error handling, logging, and performance monitoring to ensure

scalability and long-term stability of custom tools.

Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:

• Autodesk Civil 3D Proficiency: Strong understanding of Civil 3D's core design tools,

including corridors, grading, alignments, and surface modeling.

• Programming Expertise: Advanced skills in .NET (C#, VB.NET) and deep knowledge of

AutoCAD APIs (ObjectARX, Civil 3D SDK) for custom development.

• Software Development & Best Practices: Expertise in object-oriented programming,

version control (e.g., Git), and applying software design patterns for scalable and

maintainable solutions.

• API Integration & Workflow Automation: Proven experience in developing and

integrating APIs, automating complex workflows, and optimizing Civil 3D for better

efficiency.

• GIS & Data Integration: Familiarity with GIS tools, data transformation (ETL), and cross platform system integration is an added advantage.

Experience:

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in software development, with a focus on Autodesk

Civil 3D customization for at least 2 years.

• Demonstrated experience in developing custom add-ins and tools for Civil 3D and

AutoCAD, enhancing functionality and user experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Civil Engineering (with programming skills), or a

related field.

• Autodesk Civil 3D or AutoCAD development certifications are highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Autodesk Revit or InfraWorks integration with Civil 3D is a plus.
