Responsibilities

Planning

: Research locations, props, and weather. Decide on camera equipment, lighting, and framing.

Shooting

: Set up and operate the camera to capture the scene.

Editing

: Organize, cut, and assemble raw footage.

Crew management

: Select and assign roles to camera operators, lighting riggers, and other crew members.

Post-production

: Guide editors to make desired changes to the scene.

Quality control

: Check dailies to ensure each shot is usable.
Skills and knowledge

Excellent camera skills Knowledge of lighting, lens, exposure, and film stock types Knowledge of digital editing and compression technologies, video codecs, and file formats Ability to interpret storyboards and screenplays Ability to scout locations Ability to work with a team
