Chief Manager - Investments
The responsibilities of the candidate will as below:
Investment Risk / Performance Monitoring
- Responsible for Performance attribution of Investment Portfolios
- Computing various portfolio returns used to measure the risk associated with the portfolio and the return
- Credit appraisal of proposals related to Corporate Debt/ Bonds, IPO/ FPO Analysis.
- Reporting on movement of prices.
- Doing analysis through Rate Scan, counterparty concentration, broker concentration etc.
- Responsible for validation of Fund Performance v/s the Benchmark and Peers
- Review of Investment newsletter sent to Policyholders
- Responsible for monitoring of assets supporting Liabilities and ensuring that adequate assets are maintained to support the reserves
Supervise Middle office and related Activities :
- Ensure Timely and accurate delivery all reporting like IRDA quarterly disclosures, internal, Balance sheet disclosures etc
- Active participation in Middle office related discussions like finalization of Balance Sheet (Process changes, Accounting and Valuation Policies), policies reviews, discussion on draft and new guidelines
- Ensured all Middle office projects shall conclude within agreed timelines
- Development and Training of Team members and Self
- Building strong relationship with other departments within the organization
Compliance and review of Investment Policy, SOP and other Policies :
- Monitoring of Regulatory Compliance of Investment pattern and exposure
- Monitoring of Limits set by Investment Committee
- Actively participate in new policy formation
- Review and update of the existing policies as per latest regulations
- Review and update of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) as per industry best practices and regulatory changes
Timely reporting of all Regulatory, Share Holders & Internal :
- Ensure Timely and accurate delivery of the IRDA Investment returns, Balance sheet disclosures and other stake holders reporting
- Ensure timely Internal reporting Including ULIP disclosures, Public disclosures and Financial
- Support in selection of peers based on internal criteria.
- Ensure correctness of the reporting of fund performance against the benchmark & peers to Board, IC and other forums like MIRG, MRC, etc.
- Preparation of IC deck and other investment related matters presented in board/other forums
Supervise implementation activities of new Ind AS ongoing disclosures
- Setting up processes in line with new Ind AS
- Business model assessment for classification and SPPI testing of investments
- Ensure smooth transition of annual disclosures, systems and processes as per new Ind AS
- Ensure accurate modeling of effective interest, Expected credit loss, Loss given default
- Drafting of accounting policies as per new IND AS
- Ensure testing of system for new developments and patches
- Work closely with consultant, team and other stake holders to ensure smooth implementation as new Ind AS
Product Support :
- To support new product launches under existing and new business lines by providing inputs on Investment related processes
- Support to Products team / Actuarial team in respect to Investment guidelines and permitted asset classes for new lines of business
- Finalization of the Accounting policies, accounting opinion and process set-ups for new products and review of existing products
Monitoring Liquidity Risk :
Derivatives:
- Onboarding of New Counterparties for Derivatives Transactions.
- Management of agenda for DMC (Derivatives Management Committee)
- Computation of VAR and Other Risk Measures.
- Impact of Derivatives MTM on Solvency
SOP System Testing and Implmentation
Impact on the Business / Function [COMPLETE 3-4 AREAS]
- Investment performance analysis
- Investment Risk Monitoring

- BCP/DR planning & support to BRCM
- Supervise Middle office and related Activities

- Ensure accurate and timely implementation of all changes required under Ind AS
- Ensure all policies shall be updated as per required/changed regulations
