Job Title: Chemical Analyst

Job Summary:
As a Chemical Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting chemical analyses and experiments to support research, development, quality control, and regulatory compliance activities. You will utilize various analytical techniques and instruments to analyze raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, methodical, and possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Chemical Analysis and Testing:
• Perform chemical analyses and tests on samples using analytical techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, titration, and microscopy.
• Analyze raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to assess quality, purity, composition, and performance characteristics.
• Instrument Operation and Maintenance:
• Operate and maintain analytical instruments and equipment, including gas chromatographs (GC), liquid chromatographs (HPLC), mass spectrometers, spectrophotometers, and atomic absorption spectrometers.
• Calibrate instruments, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
• Method Development and Validation:
• Develop and validate analytical methods and procedures for new products, formulations, or processes.
• Optimize analytical techniques and parameters to enhance sensitivity, precision, and efficiency.
• Data Analysis and Interpretation:
• Analyze and interpret analytical data, including chromatograms, spectra, and chemical test results.
• Document findings, observations, and conclusions accurately and comprehensively in laboratory notebooks, reports, and databases.
• Quality Control and Assurance:
• Conduct quality control tests and inspections to verify compliance with specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate deviations, non-conformances, and out-of-specification results, implementing corrective actions and preventive measures as needed.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, EPA, OSHA) to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
• Handle and dispose of hazardous chemicals and waste materials in accordance with established procedures and regulations.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including research scientists, engineers, production personnel, and quality assurance professionals, to support project objectives and timelines.
• Communicate findings, progress updates, and recommendations effectively through written reports, presentations, and discussions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation and techniques, including chromatography, spectroscopy, and wet chemistry methods.
• Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., ChemStation, Empower, Origin, Excel) and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
• Knowledge of laboratory safety practices, chemical handling procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Prior experience in a chemical laboratory or industrial setting is preferred but not required.
