Job Summary:

The Experienced Sous Chef specializing in Nepali cuisine will support the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operations at Blue Poppy Thakali. This role requires expertise in Nepali culinary traditions, creativity in presenting authentic flavors, and leadership in maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and service.

Key Responsibilities:Culinary Leadership:

• Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and executing the menu with a focus on authentic Nepali dishes.
• Oversee food preparation and ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation.
• Develop new recipes and refine existing ones to align with customer preferences and brand standards.

Team Management:

• Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and guidance to ensure efficient operations.
• Delegate tasks effectively and monitor performance to maintain productivity and morale.
• Step in as acting Head Chef during their absence.

Quality & Hygiene:

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and restaurant policies.
• Conduct routine quality checks on ingredients, mise en place, and finished dishes.

Inventory & Cost Management:

• Monitor inventory levels and assist in procurement of ingredients, particularly those specific to Nepali cuisine.
• Minimize wastage by implementing effective storage and inventory practices.
• Support the Head Chef in managing food costs and controlling kitchen expenses.

Collaboration & Innovation:

• Work closely with the service team to understand guest feedback and adapt the menu accordingly.
• Contribute to seasonal menu updates and special events by creating innovative dishes rooted in Nepali traditions.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma or degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience in a professional kitchen.
• Minimum 4-5 years of experience specializing in Nepali cuisine, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
• Deep knowledge of traditional Nepali spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to manage and inspire a diverse team.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?20,000.00 per month
