: Chef - South Indian & North Indian Cuisine
Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Chef specializing in South Indian and North Indian cuisines to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for cooking, creativity in crafting dishes, and expertise in preparing authentic and flavorful recipes. The chef will oversee kitchen operations, maintain quality standards, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
• Menu Planning and Preparation :
• Develop and prepare authentic South Indian and North Indian dishes, including a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
• Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of dishes.
• Innovate and introduce new dishes to enhance the menu.
• Kitchen Operations Management :
• Supervise and coordinate kitchen activities to ensure smooth workflow.
• Assign tasks to kitchen staff and provide guidance during food preparation.
• Ensure timely preparation and service during peak hours.
• Inventory and Resource Management :
• Manage inventory of raw materials, spices, and other ingredients required for South Indian and North Indian cuisines.
• Coordinate with suppliers to procure fresh and high-quality ingredients.
• Monitor stock levels and minimize wastage.
• Food Safety and Hygiene :
• Ensure adherence to food safety standards and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Conduct regular quality checks of ingredients and prepared dishes.
• Train staff on proper food handling and hygiene practices.
• Customer Satisfaction :
• Interact with customers to gather feedback on dishes and implement improvements.
• Customize recipes to meet specific dietary or cultural requirements of customers.
• Team Collaboration :
• Work closely with the management and service staff to coordinate menu offerings and special events.
• Train junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques and preparation of South and North Indian dishes.
• Cost Management :
• Maintain food cost efficiency by optimizing resources and controlling waste.
• Monitor portion sizes and ingredient usage to meet budgetary goals.
• Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution :
• Address any kitchen-related challenges or issues promptly.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is maintained and report any malfunctions to management.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Education :
• Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institution is preferred.
• Experience :
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a chef specializing in South Indian and North Indian cuisines.
• Technical Skills :
• Proficiency in preparing a wide range of South Indian dishes (e.g., dosas, idlis, sambars) and North Indian dishes (e.g., curries, biryanis, tikkas).
• Knowledge of traditional cooking techniques and use of authentic spices.
• Soft Skills :
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creativity and innovation in menu design and food presentation.
