Job Title: CEO of Giftcity International Banking Unit (IBU)
Location : Gandhinagar
Deutsche Bank's IFSC International Banking Unit (IBU) branch in Giftcity, Ahmedabad, was setup in 2021. This branch allows the Bank to expand its services available to our clients to smoothly conduct international business transactions, particularly in the areas of Financing, Trade and Currencies. The role is to head this unit.
The CEO is responsible for the following:
• Ultimate responsibility for the business, day-to-day management, supervision and control of the activities in the branch
• Ensure regulatory compliances, manage risk and controls
• Build and maintain connect with local regulators. Will be responsible to represent Deutsche Bank in front of the regulators
• Responsibility to grow the business across trade, cash and custody business

Responsibilities and Tasks:
• Collaborating with colleagues locally / overseas to leverage the firm's existing relationships & develop a strategy to increase promotion / revenue from such client base.
• Trade idea origination / promotion; collaborating across the equity floor / research in promoting the use of Equities products for such trade origination.
• Supervisory responsibility of the IBU branch including administrative, governance and business development
• Responsibility for expanding the Trade Finance & Lending portfolio across existing and New-to-Bank (NTB) clients. Execute agreed strategy and meet agreed revenue targets
• Support the implementation and rollout of Cash Management and Securities Services business in IBU
• Responsible for managing top tier set of clients across Multinational Corporates and Local Large Corporates including NBFIs from hunting and farming corporate relationships in Ahmedababd region
• Work and coordinate with other product teams in the bank in building out custom solution for clients. Liaising with Product Management for new and innovative solutions
• Extensive client interaction, interaction with risk, legal, compliance, CRM and tax
• Managing business risk, control over daily riks metrics and ensure the IBU is always audit-ready and compliant. Ensure timely completion of Mandatory Trainings and compliance with all risk- (both non-financial and financial) related obligations (non-financial risk, financial risk)
• Uphold relevant legal, regulatory and Bank policy requirements for all Sales activities
• Being in charge of Know-Your-Customer (KYC) reviews and on-boarding of new customers
• Supporting the organization and management of client events (e.g. product presentations at seminars)
• Interacting / Cross-selling with other areas of the bank, such as FIC, TFAS.
People Management:
Being a Senior member of the team, need to have good communication skills with all internal Stakeholders to deliver services to Financial Institutional clients.
Experience/ Exposure :
• 15+ years of experience in corporate bank, preferably in trade finance, cash management and custody business
• Appropriate mix of knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure effective management of the IBU commensurate with nature, scale and complexity of the business.
• Skills to handle regulators, understand regulations and coordinate with stakeholders in the Bank for business development and all other functions as required
• Skills to understand Risk and Internal Control functions and ability to represent and coordinate for the functions with the governing board and India functional heads
• Self motivated and leadership quality to manage the IBU
• Asist and coordinate business development for the IBU alongwith businesses in DBAG Group
• Solid awareness of compliance, non-financial and business risks in the applicable region.
• Ability to build and develop contacts at the appropriate level in target clients to support business attraction. Strong negotiation skills essential.
• Strong track record in client facing role for cash management and trade finance to financial institutions
• Willing and able to travel frequently to meet clients
Education/ Qualifications :
• Educated to University degree level
• Fluency in written and spoken in English is must.
• Relevant work experience in GTB business, esp. Cash Management and Trade Finance
• Solid presentation and communication skills, written and oral
• Motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills and multi-cultural understanding
• Ability to communicate effectively at varying levels of seniority (internally and externally)
• Creative (e.g. when preparing marketing material, such as business proposals) and innovative (e.g. when structuring trade finance deals) working style
• Client-centric attitude, while living the values of Integrity and Discipline in assuring the bank does not incur undesired financial, non-financial, or reputational risk
• Easiness with the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
