• Oversee a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., sauces, vegetables, grill) and manage all aspects of food preparation in that area.
• Coordinate with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service.
• Contribute to menu planning and creation under the guidance of the head chef.
• Offer suggestions for improvements and new dishes based on culinary trends and guest feedback.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area.
• Follow proper food safety procedures and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• ssist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff.
• Monitor and delegate tasks to commis chefs and other kitchen assistants.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels for your section.
• Ensure stock rotation and minimize wastage to control food costs.
• Be flexible and able to work in various sections of the kitchen as needed.
• Handle pressure and maintain professionalism during busy periods.
