Description General information: The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy\'s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries. Responsibilities: Contractor finalisation according to required technical specification, price, delivery schedule and terms. Ensure purchasing activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures. As Category Manager will be the focal point between HVDC and our Contractors during the Tender and execution phase of our projects. Work close with Project & Tender stakeholders and finalize the sub contractors and services according to agreed time, cost and quality. Responsible for the Market Research, Subcontractors and Partner Identification. Responsible for Contractor/Partner relationship management, Subcontractor/Partner Selection and Development of them. Responsible coordination of the Construction & Commissioning RFQ team and for compilation of the RFQ. Responsibility for the Contract Management - Drafting of subcontract together with Contract Manager Responsible for Subcontractors\' Bid evaluation, Subcontractor Risk Review and Bid Review Meeting as well as the Negotiation with the subcontractors. Supplier performance - Participate and run the Contractor performance evaluation for contractor development. Communication - Establishes clear and transparent communication internally, externally, and between different Divisions, Business Units and Functions and supports the implementation of PL activities and initiatives in the Region/Country through this clear communication. Your background: Bachelor degree in BE/ B.Tech ( Civil / Electrical / Mechanical ), Construction management or equivalent experience. Experience in civil engineering background or a Strategic sourcing background in contracted services (non-commodity, i.e., civil design, civil works, or installation) or Contract Management is required. Background from Strategic Sourcing or Contract Management or Civil/Construction/ Engineering/Management. As a person you drive for relentless execution with a high focus on details and are well-structured and organized. Contract Management knowledge is a big advantage to succeed in this role & must have knowledge of EPC processes and have abilities to handle demanding timelines with multiple priorities. Team player with strong communicative and collaborative skills who likes to interact with other people. Open minded and flexible. Described as energetic, motivated and self-confident person who can handle both ups and downs and manage problem that may occur. Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Additional languages are beneficial. Experience in HVDC project will be an added advantage
