The Restaurant Cashier is responsible for managing transactions, ensuring accurate billing, and maintaining a friendly and efficient checkout process. They handle payments, maintain financial records, and provide excellent customer service to guests.
Key Responsibilities:
• Customer Transactions:
• Greet customers warmly and process payments for their orders.
• Handle cash, credit cards, and other payment methods accurately.
• Issue receipts and ensure correct billing for dine-in, takeout, or delivery orders.
• Financial Management:
• Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Record transactions accurately in the POS (Point of Sale) system.
• Report any discrepancies in cash or credit transactions promptly.
• Customer Service:
• Address customer inquiries related to billing or menu items.
• Resolve complaints or escalate them to the manager if necessary.
• Provide information about promotions, discounts, or special offers.
• Operational Support:
• Maintain a clean and organized cashier station.
• Assist with packaging takeout orders if needed.
• Coordinate with service staff for smooth operations during peak hours.
• Compliance & Security:
• Follow cash handling and anti-theft protocols.
• Ensure compliance with restaurant policies and financial procedures.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cashier, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Proficiency in using POS systems and handling transactions.
• Strong math skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
