Job Description

The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpentry tools and equipment. This role involves working on a variety of projects including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Construction and Installation :
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project specifications.
• Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials.
• Build and install frameworks, structures, and fixtures such as stairways, door frames, partitions, and rafters.
• Repair and Maintenance :
• Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
• Repair or replace existing woodwork and fixtures.
• Perform maintenance work on buildings, including both interior and exterior carpentry tasks.
• Project Planning :
• Estimate the materials required for the project and prepare material lists.
• Plan the layout and installation of various carpentry components based on blueprints and building codes.
• Coordinate with other workers and subcontractors to complete projects on time.
• Safety and Compliance :
• Follow established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a carpenter, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
• Certification or licensure as required by state or local regulations.

Skills:

• Proficiency in using carpentry tools and equipment.
• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
• Strong physical condition and manual dexterity.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.

Experience:

• 1-3 years of experience as a carpenter or in a related field.
• Experience in (residential,).
