Job Description

Job Summary: We are looking for a motivated and skilled Assistant Carpenter to join our team. The Assistant Carpenter will assist in various carpentry tasks under the supervision of experienced carpenters. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in Projects: Work alongside carpenters to assist in the construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
• Prepare Work Areas: Set up and maintain tools and equipment for carpentry projects. Ensure all tools are in good working condition and safely stored after use.
• Measure and Cut Materials: Assist in measuring and cutting materials according to specifications using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines.
• Finish Carpentry: Assist in finishing surfaces, including sanding, staining, and applying sealant or paint.
• Maintain Cleanliness: Keep work areas clean and organized, ensuring debris and hazards are cleared away to maintain a safe working environment.
• Follow Safety Guidelines: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Requirements:

• Experience: Previous experience as a carpenter's assistant or similar role is preferred but not required. Willing to train motivated individuals with a strong interest in carpentry.
• Skills: Basic knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines safely and effectively.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials, work in various weather conditions, and perform tasks that require bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
• Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Reliability: Punctuality and dependability are essential to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to standard.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training in carpentry or related fields is a plus.

Pay: ?8,000.00 - ?10,500.00 per month
