This includes conducting physical examinations, taking patient medical histories, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests (such as electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, and stress tests), and formulating treatment plans. Diagnosis and Treatment: Cardiologists use their expertise to diagnose various cardiovascular conditions, such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease. They develop personalized treatment plans based on the patient\'s condition, which may involve medication management, lifestyle modifications, cardiac interventions (such as angioplasty or stent placement), or surgical procedures (such as bypass surgery or valve replacement). Invasive and Non-invasive Procedures: Cardiologists perform and supervise a range of procedures, both invasive and non-invasive. They may conduct cardiac catheterization procedures, angiograms, electrophysiology studies, or implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators. Additionally, they interpret the results of non-invasive tests, such as stress tests, echocardiograms, and nuclear cardiology studies. Collaboration: Cardiologists often work closely with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, technicians, and other physicians, to ensure coordinated patient care. They may also collaborate with other specialists, such as cardiac surgeons, radiologists, and nutritionists, for comprehensive management of patients. Administrative Duties: Depending on their position, cardiologists may have administrative responsibilities, such as managing cardiac units, overseeing quality improvement initiatives, or participating in hospital committees and policy development related to cardiology services. Medical degree (MBBS) from a recognized institution.
