The Captain Order Taker plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless customer service and efficient order processing within the restaurant. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a customer-centric mindset. The Captain Order Taker reports directly to the Restaurant Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Greeting and Seating Guests :
• Welcome guests as they arrive, escort them to their tables, and ensure a positive first impression.
• Assist with table allocation and manage guest flow during peak hours.
• Taking Orders :
• Approach tables promptly, introduce yourself, and provide menus.
• Listen attentively to guest preferences, answer questions, and recommend dishes.
• Accurately record food and beverage orders, including any special requests or dietary restrictions.
• Order Processing :
• Transmit orders to the kitchen and bar promptly.
• Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
• Monitor order status and communicate any delays to guests.
• Upselling and Cross-Selling :
• Suggest additional items (appetizers, desserts, beverages) to enhance the guest experience.
• Promote daily specials and seasonal offerings.
• Knowledge of Menu and Ingredients :
• Be well-versed in the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and portion sizes.
• Address guest inquiries about menu items and allergens.
• Handling Guest Requests :
• Attend to guest requests promptly (refills, extra napkins, condiments, etc.).
• Resolve any issues or complaints professionally and courteously.
• Billing and Payment :
• Present bills accurately and collect payments.
• Handle cash, credit cards, and other payment methods securely.
• Provide change and receipts as needed.
• Maintaining Cleanliness and Hygiene :
• Ensure tables are clean, set, and properly arranged.
• Monitor table turnover and assist with resetting tables for the next guests.
• Team Collaboration :
• Coordinate with kitchen staff, baristas, and other team members to ensure smooth service.
• Communicate guest preferences or special requests to the kitchen.
• Guest Engagement :
• Build rapport with regular guests and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Remember guest preferences and personalize service.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Previous experience as a waiter, order taker, or similar role.
• Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work well under pressure.
• Basic math skills for billing and handling payments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?12,000.00 - ?25,000.00 per month

Schedule:

• Rotational shift

Work Location: In person
