Purpose of the role

The job responsibility of a breakdown maintenance manager is to ensure that equipment and machinery in a cafe set up are maintained and repaired efficiently when they break down or experience unexpected failures. The role involves a combination of technical, managerial, and organizational tasks. Here are the key responsibilities of a breakdown maintenance manager:

Key Responsibilities and accountabilities of the Role

1. Break down maintenance: Responsible for 450 cafes and 200 CDX(Xpress) outlets across the country .

2. Supervision: Building program of all heating and A/C and Refrigeration based on daily schedules

3. Equipment Inspection and Assessment:Conduct regular inspections of supplies, tools,machinery and equipment to identify potential issues or areas that may need maintenance. Ensure economical use of the tools

4. Emergency Response: Quickly respond to breakdowns or unexpected equipment failures, ensuring that downtime is minimized to maintain production schedules.

5. Diagnosis: Identify the root causes of equipment failures and breakdowns by working with maintenance teams and using diagnostic tools.

6. Coordination: Coordinate with maintenance technicians, mechanics, and engineers to ensure prompt repair and maintenance activities

7. Resource Allocation: Allocate resources, such as personnel, tools, and spare parts, to address breakdowns efficiently.

8. Scheduling: Develop and maintain a maintenance schedule to prevent future breakdowns by conducting routine maintenance activities and predictive maintenance.

9. Cost Management: Monitor and manage the budget allocated for breakdown maintenance, making sure it is used effectively and efficiently.

10. Vendor Management: Work with external vendors and suppliers to source replacement parts and services as needed for repairs.

11. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of equipment breakdowns, repairs, and maintenance activities for future reference and analysis.

12. Reporting: Provide regular reports to higher management on breakdown statistics, downtime, and measures taken to address them.

13. Safety Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards to protect the well-being of maintenance staff and other employees.

14. Training: Develop and implement training programs for maintenance personnel to enhance their skills in diagnosing and repairing equipment.

15. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvement to reduce the frequency of breakdowns.

16. Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory of spare parts and supplies required for breakdown maintenance to ensure an adequate supply.

17. Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurring breakdowns by addressing underlying issues.

18. Quality Control: Ensure that equipment repairs and maintenance are done to high standards to prevent frequent breakdowns and maximize equipment lifespan.

19. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as production and engineering, to understand their needs and coordinate maintenance activities accordingly.
