: Cafe Attendant
Job Summary: The Cafe Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and ensuring a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all guests. This role involves taking orders, preparing and serving food and beverages, and handling transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Customer Service:
• Greet and welcome customers as they arrive.
• Assist customers with menu selections and answer any questions about the offerings.
• Provide information on daily specials and promotions.
• Address customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
• Food and Beverage Preparation:
• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards.
• Assemble and serve light meals, such as sandwiches, salads, and baked goods.
• Ensure the presentation of food and beverages is up to cafe standards.
• Order Taking and Transactions:
• Accurately take customer orders and enter them into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Provide customers with receipts and any necessary change.
• Workspace Maintenance:
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe, including dining areas, counters, and restrooms.
• Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and utensils regularly.
• Restock supplies and inform the manager of any inventory needs.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with other cafe staff to ensure smooth operation and a positive work environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management.
• Assist with training new employees as needed.
• Health and Safety Compliance:
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for customers and staff.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a cafe, restaurant, or customer service role preferred.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity to operate cafe equipment and handle hot beverages.
