Job Description

AD technician is a professional who uses computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify digital drawings and 3D models based on design specifications provided by engineers, architects, or other technical professionals, primarily focusing on translating conceptual designs into detailed, production-ready blueprints for construction, manufacturing, or other applications; requiring proficiency in CAD software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit, and strong understanding of technical drawings and engineering principles. Key responsibilities of a CAD technician may include: Creating 2D and 3D drawings: Generating detailed plans, elevations, sections, and other technical drawings using CAD software. Modifying existing designs: Updating and revising existing CAD models to reflect changes in project specifications. Data entry and manipulation: Importing and exporting data from various sources, including sketches, hand drawings, and engineering calculations, into the CAD software. Dimensioning and annotation: Adding precise measurements and annotations to drawings to ensure accuracy in construction or manufacturing. Collaboration with design teams: Working closely with engineers, architects, and designers to understand project requirements and translate them into accurate CAD models. Quality control: Checking drawings for errors and inconsistencies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications. Generating technical documentation: Creating detailed technical drawings and assembly instructions for production. Staying updated with industry trends: Keeping abreast of new CAD software features and advancements in design technology.
