Job Description

A cabinet installer is responsible for accurately measuring, cutting, and installing cabinets, shelves, and other fixtures in kitchens, bathrooms, or other designated areas, ensuring proper alignment, levelness, and secure attachment to walls and floors, while adhering to design specifications and building codes, often collaborating with contractors and clients to complete projects smoothly. Key responsibilities of a cabinet installer: Measuring and layout: Accurately measure and mark wall locations for cabinet placement according to blueprints and design plans. Cutting and assembly: Precisely cut cabinet components to size, using power tools and hand tools, and assemble cabinets as needed. Installation: Securely install cabinets to walls and floors using appropriate fasteners, ensuring proper alignment, levelness, and plumb. Hardware installation: Install cabinet doors, drawers, hardware (hinges, pulls, knobs) and other accessories. Finishing touches: Fill gaps, caulk joints, and apply touch-up paint or stain as required. Quality control: Inspect completed installations to ensure accuracy, functionality, and adherence to quality standards. Collaboration: Coordinate with other tradespeople like plumbers, electricians, and countertop installers to ensure seamless project completion. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any installation issues that may arise during the process. Safety compliance: Follow all safety protocols including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
