THE ROLE

This role requires a keen eye for quality, strong technical skills in meat cutting and preparation, and a passion for working in a high-energy, fast-paced kitchen environment. You?ll work closely with the Sr. Sous Chef and the kitchen team to ensure meats are prepared in line with the menu?s standards, supporting a seamless workflow and maintaining the high culinary excellence that defines O Pedro. You are a skilled butcher with at least 1 year of experience working in a restaurant or professional kitchen. You have a deep understanding of various meat cuts and preparation techniques and are passionate about delivering consistent, high-quality results. You thrive in a busy kitchen environment, able to maintain precision under pressure while ensuring the highest standards of safety and hygiene. You?re detail-oriented, physically fit, and have the stamina required for a demanding role. You will be part of a talented and dynamic kitchen team at O Pedro, working closely with the Sr. Sous Chef, line cooks, and other kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dishes to our guests. O Pedro is known for its bold flavors and creativity, and you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen?s ability to consistently produce high-quality meals. WHO YOU WILL REPORT TO
You will report directly to the Sr. Sous Chef, working closely together to ensure the meat preparations align with the restaurant?s culinary vision and operational requirements. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR Meat Preparation: Efficiently and skillfully cut, prepare, and portion meats, using knives, grinders, and other tools to meet kitchen specifications. Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of incoming meat deliveries to ensure freshness, quality, and safety. Ensure all meats meet our high standards before use in the kitchen. Inventory Management: Collaborate with the kitchen team to monitor inventory levels, reduce waste, and ensure that meat supplies are properly managed and stocked. Collaboration: Work closely with chefs and other kitchen staff to coordinate meat preparation and ensure smooth kitchen operations. Adaptability: Adapt to the dynamic needs of the kitchen, assisting in other tasks as required, particularly during peak hours or busy services. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as a butcher in a restaurant or culinary setting. Knowledge: Strong understanding of various meat cuts, preparation methods, and safety standards. Attention to Detail: Ability to perform tasks with precision and maintain high-quality standards. Physical Stamina: Capability to handle heavy lifting and long hours in a fast-paced environment. Safety Standards: In-depth knowledge of hygiene, food safety, and meat handling practices. Teamwork: Ability to work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Adaptability: Comfortable with the fast-paced, ever-changing nature of a busy kitchen.
