Business Sales Unit Head {(VP - Sales & Marketing (Chemicals)}
- Responsible for all sales activities in India& International. The scope of the position covers all product lines across the company as well as supporting the organization for company activities in India & International. The primary objective of the role is to develop and spearhead the growth strategy for the company in India & International to grow revenues as well as build it.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for market development for the Domestic & International market. Includes increasing sales/share of existing offerings to identifying new product opportunities leveraging all categories.
- Role is responsible for developing marketing and sales plans for existing offerings and work with the marketing and business management team to implement strategies.
- Lead the business development initiatives, working closely with customers and principals to deliver the right strategy to grow sales and increase profitability in line with the agreed budget
- To liaise, negotiate and support customers with their requirements based upon commercial and technical expectations
- Deliver accurate sales targets for volume, revenue and gross profit for the business including key customer account management responsibility
- Monitor and report monthly upon the Sales and Business development initiative to the board
- Manage existing distribution/agent relationships; evaluate existing partners and develop recommended channel/sales approach to the variety of markets our clients serve. Role will have day-to-day responsibility to ensure the performance of the distributor partners.
- Develop and manage appropriate warehousing and logistics capabilities to enable and maximize our client\'s commercial presence including developing local stock points for select growth products as well as building capability for effective supply performance.
- To monitor, in conjunction with the credit controller and commercial team the payment history and credit worthiness of all customers to ensure timely payments
- Perform competitive intelligence in the local market to improve understanding of both local and global competitors.
- Marketing the company, principals and products via Digital and traditional marketing whilst representing the company at relevant trade shows and exhibitions
- Work with the technology team to help establish research and development partnerships to further our client\'s internal research efforts. This includes assisting the team with the identification and selection of potential partners and serving as the country representative and relationship manager of the local partners.
- Work with product management team to support project analysis related to potential production of products & make/buy partnerships with local companies.
- Work closely with the Board to ensure projects and strategic objectives are aligned with company strategy
- Present and update the board on progress of business aims/goals
- Produce accurate financial reforecast and budgets
Qualification And Experience:
1. MBA with 20-25 years\' experience in sales management in Commodity Chemicals/Plastics/Polymer Industry. Must be currently Heading P&L Responsibilities.
2. Strong commercial, marketing, and strategic acumen.
3. Results oriented - strive to push to improve outcomes.
4. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
5. Significant proven experience of designing, implementing & executing commercial strategies and ideally from within the chemical sector.
6. Entrepreneurial with the ability to think outside of the box to improve sales revenues and gross profits.
7. Ability to understand data and market trends and to take action when appropriate.
8. High energy levels and degree of intellect to challenge and promote new sales/business development.
9. Experience of developing and leading external and internal sales teams.
10. Strong commercial acumen selling technical products with a full understanding of the value proposition.
11. Comfort and capability working in a x-functional organization - able to work in a matrix organization
12. Strong time management and prioritization skills.
13. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
14. Organized, persuasive, strong networker and influential communication style.
15. Experience of utilizing MS Office and CRM Software.
16. Experience of integrating acquired businesses is preferable.
