Role : Business Manager - SPT, Bangalore

Level : B4

Job Purpose

Develop, influence and drive the implementation of the growth agenda in the area. Realize growth through the opportunities addressed by maximizing opportunity from the following levers of markets, channels, infrastructure, people and enablers.

The core purpose of the job is market assessment and identification of opportunities; Deploying channel strategies to gain market share in SPT channel. Execute appropriate distribution & RTM strategy with strong Sales Processes & Systems through effective and efficient front line team in place

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Distribution:

Responsible for Specialist Trade channel growth- responsible for overall growth of his/ her cluster (Deliver the net sales value as per plan)

Meet distribution & effective coverage plans.

Achieve Perfect Store & Visibility store targets to ensure excellence in visibility.

Adhere to sales operating procedures

Ensure customer engagement and development at all levels from RDS to channels.

Develop & Coach field sales associates

Provide timely and accurate required MIS and set up sales automation.

Effective and efficient utilization of trade spends and manpower budget

Execution of National Programs/Activation for Petshops & clinics channel

Planning:

Set, monitor and deliver key business objectives at period, quarter and Annual levels.

Develop the markets by using a judicious mix of tools available to drive Physical and Mental availability.

Influence Key stakeholders such as LM, Trade Marketing, sales development and Marketing to align and garner necessary support to meet growth ambitions in the mid to long term

Maximize throughputs of trade spends (as per agreed norms) and ensure delivery of In Store Visibility and execution as per Pet Nutrition Standards leveraging tools available.

In conjunction with LM, ensure a higher level of forecast accuracy on a period level and align with Supply chain teams to ensure efficient service levels to customers

Line Management:

Recruit, engage and develop Associates while maximizing performance in the Mars way. Determine development plans for Associates within the team. Lead, monitor and motivate the team including the development of talent and high performance collaboration

1. Recruit & Onboard : fully on-board new direct reports with a specific Onboarding plan and hold four one-on-one discussions to align and review the Onboarding plan

2. Engage: lead the team in doing quarterly Engagement Impact Plan & Follow-through discussions.

3. Develop: Support direct reports in creating a high-quality Development Plan in the system

4. Maximize Performance: Set SMART Business Objectives in the system & monitor across year

5. The Mars Way: Hold meaningful conversations with the direct reports each quarter about how The Five Principles relate to their work.

Drive performance by leverage selling tools and SIP (Sales incentive programme) as designed by the company

Coach ASEs on the Pet Nutrition Distribution system and drive desired productivity levels.

Implement structured training interventions as per agreed calendar to continuously upskill his FSA team

Recruit desired numbers of FSA\xe2\x80\x99s of targeted profiles within specific timelines.

Administration:

Conduct Period meetings as per agreed norms to monitor performance levels across geographies, distributors and Brands.

Ensure efficient backend administration by way of claim submissions, expense statements, account reconciliations etc.

Communicate and track Sales Incentive Plan

Others

Quality: \xe2\x80\x9cAssociate is responsible to ensure effective implementation of Mars QMP (Quality Management Process), Quality and Food Safety requirements including Personnel Hygiene and GMP stated by the Organization as applicable. Associate shall deliver through Respective Area/Process Standard Operating Procedures. Meet basic competency requirements mentioned in the job Role Skill Matrix to ensure Quality and Food Safety requirements are implemented to satisfactory level.\xe2\x80\x9d

Safety: Overall responsibility to ensure the individual compliance to Mars Global/Asset conservation standards and other relevant local SES legislation. Responsible for implementing and maintaining all relevant SES Management systems in their respective work area. Responsible for understand risks and controls in their area, get appropriate training, report all incidents and ensure that SES objectives are captured as KRA\'s in TMS

Job Specifications/Qualifications

1. Education & Professional Qualification

Bachelors or MBA degree

2. Knowledge/Experience

Bachelors with 7-10 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience or MBA with 3-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 Experience

Experience within Food industry preferred and should have been an ASM for at-least 2-3 years
