Job Title: Head of Business Development

Location: Chennai

Reporting To: Vice President / Director

Summary:

The Head of Business Development is accountable for formulating and implementing strategies to propel business expansion, enhance market presence, and broaden the customer base of our shipping company. This pivotal role involves market analysis, fostering relationships, and identifying novel business prospects.

Responsibilities:

As a Business Development Head, you will be responsible for overseeing Freight Forwarding, Logistics Sales, and CHA Sales (Import/Export/Air/Sea) in the respective market. Your key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing strategies for key prospects.
• Identifying opportunities for growth, formulating business expansion strategies, and providing support for business development initiatives.
• Proactively scheduling appointments and meeting with customers to understand their needs.
• Creating and managing a robust pipeline for acquiring new customers.
• Demonstrating strong stakeholder management and communication skills, along with an entrepreneurial drive and result orientation.
• Building and leading a high-performing team of co-workers.
• Ensuring the achievement of the organization's sales targets and actively contributing to business development efforts.
• Exhibiting acumen for driving profitable business and contributing to the overall success of the company.
• Leading and managing key accounts to ensure increased revenue.
• Taking responsibility for the timely accounts receivable (AR) collection of self-generated customers and the team's customers.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in Freight Forwarding, Logistics Sales, and CHA Sales with a successful track record in business development.
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Leadership experience in building and managing high-performing teams.
• Results-driven with a focus on achieving targets and driving profitability.
• Knowledge of import/export regulations and industry trends.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or a related field (MBA preferred).

Pay: ?1,200,000.00 - ?2,400,000.00 per year
