Job Title: Business Development ManagerCompany: Confidential (Clinical Research Organization)Location: ChennaiRole Overview:We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to spearhead our efforts in expanding our portfolio of clinical trials
projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development within the clinical research industry, with a
proven track record of securing partnerships and collaborations with sponsors and other Contract Research Organizations (CROs)
or Site Management Organizations (SMOs). The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and
success of the company by identifying new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, and negotiating
contracts.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to drive growth and achieve revenue targets. This includes identifying target markets, assessing competition, and positioning the company as a preferred partner for clinical trials.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, and other potential clients. Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, ensuring prompt and professional communication at all times.
  • Lead Generation and Conversion: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, industry events, cold calling, and other lead generation activities.
  • Convert leads into tangible business opportunities by effectively pitching the company capabilities and value proposition.
  • Proposal Development and Negotiation: Prepare high-quality proposals, presentations, and contract bids in collaboration with internal teams, addressing client needs and objectives. Negotiate contract terms and conditions to ensure mutually beneficial agreements for the company and its clients.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in clinical research.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business trends and opportunities for expansion.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including project management, clinical operations, finance, and legal, to ensure seamless execution of client projects. Provide input and support for strategic decision-making processes.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Monitor and track business development activities, pipeline progress, and revenue forecasts. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management to evaluate performance against targets and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
xefx82xb7 Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.
xefx82xb7 Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development within the clinical research industry, with a proven track
record of success in achieving revenue targets and securing new business opportunities.
xefx82xb7 In-depth understanding of the clinical research process, including regulatory requirements, study design, and operational
considerations.
xefx82xb7 Strong network of contacts within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries, with a demonstrated
ability to leverage relationships for business development purposes.
xefx82xb7 Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex scientific
and technical information to diverse audiences.
xefx82xb7 Strategic thinker with a proactive and results-oriented approach to problem-solving.
xefx82xb7 Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
