Job Description

Operational Management

• Supervise and coordinate all aspects of air freight operations,
including booking, documentation, customs clearance, and cargo handling.

• Ensure adherence to airline schedules, flight planning, and cargo
loading/unloading procedures.

• Monitor shipment tracking and provide updates to customers on the
status of their air freight consignments.

• Resolve operational issues and challenges in a timely and efficient
manner.

Pricing Management

• Develop pricing strategies and models for air freight services
based on market dynamics, cost analysis, and revenue objectives.

• Analyze customer segments, shipping lanes, and service offerings to
optimize pricing structures and maximize profitability.

• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and
competitive pricing practices to inform pricing decisions.

Customer Relationship Management

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with air freight
customers, including shippers, consignees, and freight forwarders.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries,
requests, and complaints related to air freight shipments.

• Collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities for
business expansion and customer retention.

• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive
communication and service excellence.

Team Leadership and Development

• Recruit, train, and supervise a team of air freight specialists,
providing guidance, coaching, and support as needed.

• Set performance goals and objectives for team members and monitor
their progress towards achieving targets.

• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that
encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to
employees to enhance their skills and capabilities.

Operational Effeciency and Cost Management

• Implement best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
to optimize air freight operations and enhance efficiency.

• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to air freight
operations, such as on-time performance, cargo handling productivity, and
cost per shipment.

• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
initiatives.

• Manage branch budget and expenses effectively, ensuring alignment
with financial objectives.

Complaince and Quality Assurance

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, industry
standards, and company policies governing air freight operations.

• Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with
safety, security, and quality standards.

• Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to address any
non-compliance issues or quality concerns.

• Maintain documentation and records related to air freight shipments
in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Reporting and Communication

• Prepare regular reports on branch performance, including key
operational metrics, financial results, and customer satisfaction scores.

• Communicate effectively with senior management, providing updates
on branch activities, challenges, and opportunities.

• Collaborate with other departments within the organization, such as
sales, finance, and customer service, to achieve common goals and
objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree ( if the candidate has degree
in Logistics, Supply Chain Management it would be an added advantage)
• Proven experience in air freight operations, with at least 5 years
in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of air cargo industry regulations, airline
procedures, and international trade practices.
• Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to
motivate and inspire a team.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability
to interact professionally with customers, employees, and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in relevant software and technology used in air freight
operations, such as cargo management systems and tracking software.
• Sound financial acumen and experience in budgeting, cost management,
and financial analysis.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and make timely
decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?50,000.00 - ?100,000.00 per month
