Job Title: Boiler OperatorJob Summary: The Boiler Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of boiler systems, ensuring they are functioning correctly and in compliance with all safety regulations. The role involves monitoring equipment, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and conducting repairs as necessary. Key Responsibilities:
- Operation and Monitoring:
- Start up, operate, and shut down boilers and related equipment.
- Monitor gauges, meters, and computerized controls to ensure boilers are operating within specified parameters.
- Adjust controls to maintain proper water levels, steam pressure, and fuel supply.
- Maintenance and Repairs:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, and make necessary repairs.
- Schedule and conduct regular inspections of boilers and associated equipment.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations and safety standards.
- Conduct safety checks and maintain safety logs.
- Implement and follow lockout/tagout procedures and other safety protocols.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance, and safety activities.
- Log all readings, adjustments, repairs, and inspections in the boiler logbook.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Report any operational issues or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
- Coordinate with other maintenance staff and departments to ensure smooth operations.
