Function Name-Body Structures Module Leader Function Type- Individual Contributor Org Unit - Engineering, Research and Development (ER&D) Job Family- Engineering Scope of Role- The Module Leader will set up & run the Body Structures Module Team to ensure upfront input from all relevant areas. You will provide leadership and technical expertise in your area. Area of Responsibility This position is responsible for establishing, planning, and running the Body Structures module meetings to ensure appropriate cross functional representation and input from all relevant areas. You will have responsibility for Leadership, coordination, and technical excellence within the Body Structures Domain. Managing the team, planning projects, and reporting on progress, you see that your module meets every challenge it is set, on time and to the highest standards possible. This will involve working across technical areas, adopting new processes, and acting as the main point of contact with the vehicle line program team. A Leading your team in technical discussions to deliver robust fault free designs through the application of the Concurrent Engineering disciplines DFMEA, DFA, DFM, Campaign Prevention Process, Robustness, etc. Developing the System/Component Design Specification & the Statements of Work for the Supplier Validating that all products meet the specification requirements and project targets through a documented DVP Project managing/designing systems, subsystems and components which meet agreed program targets at lowest Total Cost, continually monitor the cost status versus cost target, and take appropriate action to control, identify and report cost risks and opportunities as soon as they are known. Ensuring the effective application of APQP to manage system/component delivery, represent the Body Structures engineers of the components/ subsystems and call-in other experts as necessary, such as Lead Engineers, Development Engineers, CAE Engineers, Vehicle Integration Engineers etc. Providing Body Structures Technical expertise. Knowledge / Experience - 10 -15 Years You will need to be an exceptional project leader, with experience of Body Structures engineering team management, experience of product design involving complex systems integration or the use of multiple technologies i.e., mixed materials fixing strategies. Demonstrate you have delivered at least 2 programs from concept to SOP. .You will require the ability to lightweight the Body Structure and drive the team to ensure the weight targets are met and ensure that Body Structures Vehicle attributes are also achieved. You will also need experience of financial planning, Body Structures engineering development and virtual product creation. You will be degree educated or significant equivalent experience or qualifications. Ability to lead the resolution of business, technical and process issues as they arise. Knowledge of change control, product definition and change management processes will also prove invaluable. Successful history of delivering Body Structures Product Design teams within the automotive sector Literacy: Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etc., Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical/Production/ Automotive Engineering
