Job Summary

The Bodyshop and Service Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the bodyshop and service department. This role requires a strong leader with extensive knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively. A key aspect of this role is managing and enhancing collaborations with insurance companies to streamline repair processes and improve customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Management:
• Oversee all operations of the bodyshop and service department, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures to enhance service quality and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor and manage workflow to ensure timely completion of repairs and services.
• Team Leadership:
• Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of technicians, service advisors, and support staff.
• Conduct regular training and development sessions to keep the team updated with the latest industry standards and practices.
• Manage staffing levels to meet business needs, including recruitment, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Customer Service:
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing customer concerns promptly and professionally.
• Maintain effective communication with customers regarding their service needs and repair status.
• Implement strategies to enhance customer retention and loyalty.
• Insurance Collaboration:
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with insurance companies to facilitate smooth claims processes.
• Coordinate with insurance adjusters to ensure accurate damage assessments and cost estimates.
• Streamline repair authorizations and approvals to minimise delays.
• Keep abreast of insurance industry changes and adjust procedures accordingly.
• Financial Management:
• Develop and manage the department budget, including forecasting and controlling expenses.
• Monitor and analyse financial performance, including revenue, costs, and profitability.
• Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
• Quality Control:
• Ensure all repairs and services meet the highest quality standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
• Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
• Inventory Management:
• Oversee the procurement and inventory management of parts and supplies.
• Ensure optimal inventory levels to support efficient operations while minimising excess stock.
• Develop relationships with suppliers to negotiate favourable terms and pricing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology, Business Management, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 7-9 years of experience in automotive service management, with a focus on bodyshop operations.
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance processes.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Proficient in using automotive service management software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working with insurance companies in the context of automotive repair and claims processing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
