Position Title: •Blood Bank Technician •

Overview: A Blood Bank Technician, also known as a Phlebotomist or Blood Banking Technologist, plays a crucial role in healthcare settings by collecting, processing, and distributing blood and blood products. They ensure the safety and accuracy of blood donations and transfusions, adhering to strict protocols and standards to prevent contamination or errors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Blood Collection and Processing:

Collect blood donations from donors using sterile techniques.

Label, process, and prepare blood components for transfusions or laboratory analysis.

Verify donor/patient identities and maintain accurate records of blood donations.

• Testing and Quality Control:

Perform compatibility testing to determine blood types and ensure suitability for transfusions.

Conduct blood typing, cross-matching, and antibody screening tests.

Monitor and maintain blood inventory levels, ensuring proper storage conditions.

• Documentation and Record Keeping:

Document all procedures, test results, and donor information accurately.

Maintain detailed records in compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Safety and Compliance:

Follow safety protocols to prevent exposure to bloodborne pathogens.

Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards for blood collection and handling.

Participate in quality assurance activities and audits to maintain accreditation.

• Communication and Teamwork:

Communicate effectively with donors, patients, and healthcare staff regarding blood collection procedures and test results.

Collaborate with laboratory technologists, nurses, and physicians to coordinate patient care and transfusion needs.

Qualifications:

• Qualification in DMLT or BMLT.
• Minimum 1 Year Experience as a Blood Bank Technician
• Experience in blood component sepration, processing, or laboratory work desirable.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, blood banking procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and prioritize tasks effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?17,000.00 - ?27,000.00 per month
