The merged organization has two main offices\xe2\x80\x94one in Amsterdam and one in New York City.The Rainforest Alliance is creating a more sustainable world by using social and market forces to protect nature and improve the lives of farmers and forest communities.We work towards making responsible business the new normal through our certification program, tailored supply chain services, landscape and community work and advocacy.OverviewBackground InformationRainforest Alliance India is looking for a consultant with motivated and result-oriented Forest & Environment Consultant to support farming, environment, regeneration of CPR lands and forest in implementation of its project, Transforming Agricultural Systems and Strengthening Local Economies in high biodiversity areas of India through Sustainable Landscape Management and public-private finance. The consultant will closely work with Rythu Sadhikara Samstha (RySS), the State government organization as well by coordinating with Rainforest Alliance at Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.The consultant will be an integral part of project team supporting the partners and work for farming, environment & CPR, Forest in Andhra Pradesh/Karnataka Community Led Micro-landscapes through regeneration of plants and animals, based in Guntur. The consultancy period is initially for one year and extend for 3 years. The consultant will be the key interface with partners and Rainforest Alliance Team in Andhra Pradesh & Karnataka.Main ObjectivesProvide technical support in farming, common lands, forests and Ecosystem, LDN, Biodiversity services and incorporate the same into the micro / meso plansSupport in improving the plans from technical basisSupport in exploring linkages and convergence with relevant departments and technical support groupsDevelop manual, IEC for partners, farmers on forest and environmentCapacity building in the above domains and project-related aspects to partners and communitiesGuide and monitor the partners and manage the project in the eastern ghats landscapeDocument the trip reports, blogs, case studies, video bytesContribute to the half-yearly and annual reportAny other activities as required by the project management teamSupport Sr. Technical AssociateSupport the establishment of ICT based solutions to project reporting, maintenance of database and data analysis.General terms and conditions for Request for proposalSelection CriteriaA post-graduation qualification in forestry, environmental science, agronomy, agriculture, natural resource management or similar.
