Duties and Responsibilities
• Works under general supervision.
• Performs complex BIM or Plant Data Centric assignments involving the use of multiple application platforms, such as Revit, Intergraph SmartPlant, Plant 3D, etc. software, to achieve set results and deadlines.
• Provides training and technical support to design staff on the Building Information Modeling system, which provides 3D models using project specifications and content.
• Direct project support and production to assigned projects and create the drawings as required using the standards and content to meet the job requirements (objects within the drawing, doors, lights, etc.).
• Collaborates with project teams to develop and implement BIM execution plans.
• Creates and maintains 3D models for plumbing, heating, and electrical systems using Revit and other relevant software.
• Ensures compliance with company BIM standards and project-specific requirements.
• Coordinates with other disciplines to resolve spatial conflicts and optimize system layouts.
• Performs quality control checks on BIM models to maintain accuracy and consistency.
• Generates quantity take-offs and schedules from BIM models to support estimating and procurement processes.
• Participates in client meetings to present BIM deliverables and address technical queries.
• Stays updated on the latest BIM technologies and industry best practices.
• Mentors junior team members in BIM software usage and modeling techniques.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements
• BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks software
• Strong understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) principles and practices
• Knowledge of plumbing, heating, and electrical (PHE) systems design and installation
• Familiarity with industry standards and codes related to PHE systems
• Excellent spatial visualization skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in BIM design, specifically in PHE systems
• Knowledge of Fire Fighting systems including Hydrant systems, Sprinkler systems, Fire Zoning, Fire Extinguishers, and Clean agent systems
• Experience with additional software such as Revizto, Microstation, or Plant 3D
• Certification in Revit MEP or other relevant BIM certifications
• Familiarity with LEED principles and sustainable design practices
• Experience in coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams in a design environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve spatial conflicts in 3D models
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Experience in creating BIM execution plans and enforcing BIM standards
• Knowledge of quantity take-offs and material scheduling from BIM models
