Job Summary:
The Billing Executive - Front Desk is responsible for managing patient billing and payments, assisting with inquiries, and providing exceptional customer service at the front desk. This role requires coordination with patients, healthcare providers, and internal departments to ensure accurate and timely billing, maintaining transparency and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
• Patient Billing & Payment Processing:
• Prepare and process patient bills accurately, ensuring all services rendered are correctly accounted for.
• Handle cash, card, and other payment methods, issuing receipts and maintaining transaction records.
• Manage billing adjustments, refunds, and outstanding balances following hospital policies.
• Customer Service:
• Greet patients and visitors at the front desk, assisting with queries related to billing and appointments.
• Address patient inquiries about charges, insurance coverage, and payment options in a polite and clear manner.
• Assist patients with admission and discharge paperwork related to billing.
• Records & Documentation:
• Ensure all patient billing data is recorded accurately in the system.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information in accordance with hospital policies.
• Coordinate with other departments, such as finance and insurance, to resolve discrepancies.
• Coordination with Insurance and Finance Departments:
• Verify patient insurance information and ensure claims are submitted accurately and timely.
• Follow up with insurance providers for approvals, pending claims, and denials.
• Work with the finance department for regular reconciliation of patient accounts.
• Compliance & Reporting:
• Stay up-to-date with hospital billing procedures and compliance regulations.
• Generate daily and monthly billing reports as required by management.
• Identify billing discrepancies and report them for correction.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
• Experience: 1-2 years in hospital billing, finance, or customer service roles preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of billing procedures and healthcare policies.
• Proficiency in billing software and MS Office (Excel, Word).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
