Job Title: Billing and Planning Engineer (NHAI Project)

Job Summary: The Billing and Planning Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the planning and billing activities of the NHAI project, ensuring that all tasks are performed in compliance with project timelines, specifications, and NHAI's guidelines. This includes tracking progress, coordinating with the construction team, and ensuring accurate billing for the work completed as per contractual agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Project Planning:
• Develop detailed project schedules using software like MS Project, Primavera, etc.
• Monitor and manage project milestones, deliverables, and timelines to ensure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with project teams and contractors to update progress on the work schedule.
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly progress reports for senior management.
• Plan and monitor resource allocation for the construction phases, ensuring optimal use of resources.
• Ensure that the planning documents are in compliance with NHAI standards and guidelines.
• Billing and Payments:
• Prepare detailed and accurate billing statements as per the project contract, ensuring that all works completed are captured and invoiced.
• Review and cross-check all invoices submitted by contractors and suppliers.
• Ensure that billing complies with the terms and conditions specified by NHAI.
• Collaborate with finance and project management teams to process payment requests and resolve any discrepancies.
• Coordinate with the finance team for timely certification of bills.
• Monitor and track payments, ensuring that all outstanding dues are cleared within the stipulated time.
• Cost Control and Analysis:
• Ensure that project costs align with the budget and take corrective actions when necessary.
• Conduct periodic cost analysis and report discrepancies between actual and planned costs.
• Assist in developing cost-effective strategies for project execution.
• Prepare cost-to-complete estimates based on project progress and upcoming tasks.
• Compliance and Documentation:
• Maintain and manage all project documentation related to planning and billing, ensuring that all records are accurate, updated, and accessible.
• Ensure all documentation related to billing is verified, filed, and in accordance with NHAI's standards and auditing requirements.
• Assist in preparing and submitting claims and variations in the contract for approval.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Post-graduate qualifications in Project Management or Construction Management are desirable.
• Experience:
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project billing, planning, and management for infrastructure projects, preferably in the road or highway sector.
• Experience working on NHAI projects is a strong advantage .
• Skills:
• Proficient in MS Project, Primavera, or any other project planning software.
• Strong understanding of project billing processes, measurement, and certification.
• Knowledge of NHAI specifications, procedures, and guidelines.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with various stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and NHAI authorities.
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
