BBRC is seeking an experienced scientist (PhD) with expertise in Neuroscience to join their Molecular Pharmacology group in their mission of discovery and validation of therapeutic targets and participation in drug discovery programs. Applicants with expertise in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's/Multiple Sclerosis etc and other neurological conditions are particularly encouraged to apply.Key Responsibilities:

• Perform patch-clamp electrophysiology/field potential recordings/MEA etc on brain slices, primary neurons/human iPSCs aimed at execution of discovery programs focused on neurodegenerative diseases
• Deliver high quality data to support identification/development of novel targets/candidate selection
• Develop, optimize and perform rigorous ephys/cellular assays to support the neuroscience therapeutic area
• Culture iPSC-derived cell-types related to your neurological models and primary culture of CNS cell types
• Independently determine in-vitro pharmacologic methods and procedures to study modulation of GPCRs/neurotransmitter receptors in brain slices/primary neurons/human iPSC neurons etc
• Develop and troubleshoot assays independently, record, analyze and communicate scientific data; ensure the accuracy and reliability of data
• Search and review the scientific literature independently on the target biology

Educational Qualification: PhD in Neuroscience or related disciplineExperience: 1-5 yearsTechnical/functional Skills:

• Demonstrated technical proficiency in ephys assays (patch-clamp/extracellular field potential recordings/MEA etc on brain slices), obtaining healthy hippocampal slices/brain slice preparation from rat/mouse brain
• Experience in neuropharmacology/small molecule pharmacology at therapeutically relevant GPCRs/neurotransmitter receptors at the molecular level in the CNS

• Hands-on experience in complex cellular models/ex-vivo systems, including designing and executing mechanistic/pharmacological characterization of lead candidates
• Must be independent and able to follow pre-established experimental designs, as well as develop new methods, protocols, and technologies based on existing literature
