Position Title: Banquet Executive

Location: Novotel Goa Dona Sylvia Resort, Cavelossim, Goa
Position Overview:
The Banquet Executive is responsible for overseeing the coordination and successful execution of all banquet functions and events. This role ensures that clients' needs are met with excellence, providing high-quality service and hospitality throughout the event. The Banquet Executive acts as the main point of contact for both the client and the internal team, ensuring seamless communication and efficient event operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Event Coordination:
Assist in the planning and execution of banquet events, including meetings, conferences, weddings, and social gatherings.
Coordinate with clients to understand their event requirements, preferences, and special requests.
Liaise with various departments (kitchen, housekeeping, front desk, etc.) to ensure all aspects of the event are covered.
Supervise and assist in the setup, operation, and breakdown of all event spaces.
• Customer Service:
Provide exemplary customer service to clients, guests, and team members, ensuring satisfaction and resolving any issues promptly.
Maintain a professional, friendly, and attentive demeanor throughout the event.
Respond to guest queries and concerns during events, ensuring a positive experience.
• Team Supervision:
Lead and direct banquet staff, including servers, bartenders, and event assistants, to ensure smooth operations.
Train and mentor new staff on event standards and procedures.
Conduct pre-event briefings and post-event debriefings to ensure clear communication and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Logistics and Planning:
Assist with event setup and breakdown, ensuring the venue is prepared according to client specifications and company standards.
Ensure the proper handling of equipment, furniture, and decor items.
Maintain inventory control for banquet supplies and report any shortages or equipment maintenance needs.
• Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure all events comply with local health and safety regulations.
Oversee the cleanliness of the event space, including adherence to hygiene and food safety standards.
Monitor staff adherence to safety protocols during events.
• Billing and Administration:
Assist with event invoicing and billing, ensuring all charges are accurate and in line with client agreements.
Maintain detailed records of client interactions and event specifics for future reference.
• Upselling and Revenue Generation:
Promote additional services and offerings (e.g., upgraded food & beverage packages, decor, AV equipment, etc.) to increase event revenue.
Support the Banquet Manager in achieving sales targets for events and functions.
Qualifications:
• A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a banquet or event coordination role within the hospitality industry.
• Experience in customer service and team leadership is essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing needs and requests.
• Knowledge of food & beverage service standards and banquet setup.
