What you\'ll doAs a Financial Controller, youll establish and maintain strong working relationships with key customers and stakeholders, and deliver high quality and consistent financial, statutory, regulatory and management reporting outputs. Youll also comply with relevant policies and consider and escalate the adequacy and effectiveness of the businesss controls on a regular basis.Day-to-day, youll:
Understand activities to support the implementation of the balance sheet substantiation policy
Undertake work to substantiate the NWG balance sheet
Perform sample testing of substantiation work undertaken by other teams
Prepare reporting in respect of the balance sheet substantiation controls and framework
Ensure that internal controls are adequate and effective
Support initiatives to drive improvements
The skills you\'ll needTo succeed in this role, youll bring experience in core financial control delivery and reporting outputs, including ledger close, balance sheet substantiation, statutory and management reporting and external audit.Well also look for you to have:
A relevant qualification and proficiency in accounting
Knowledge of international accounting standards
Experience of delivering change in a financial services environment
The ability to identify, build and enhance key relationships at a senior level
Experience of investigating and probing issues with cross-business impact
An understanding of intercompany and contra account usage requirements and intercompany reconciliations and substantiation
