Job Summary:

The Bakery Chef is responsible for preparing and baking a variety of breads, pastries, cookies, cakes, and other baked goods. This role involves creating recipes, ensuring high-quality standards, and maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, creativity in developing new products, and strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Baking and Pastry Preparation:
• Prepare and bake a variety of bread, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods according to recipes and production standards.
• Develop new recipes and improve existing ones to keep the menu fresh and appealing.
• Ensure all baked goods are consistent in quality, taste, and appearance.
• Ingredient Management:
• Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes, using various kitchen tools and equipment.
• Ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients by managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
• Monitor and minimize waste to maintain cost efficiency.
• Kitchen Operations:
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment.
• Ensure all equipment is properly used, cleaned, and maintained.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and team members to ensure smooth operations and high-quality output.
• Train and mentor junior bakers or pastry assistants as needed.
• Assist with menu planning and development, providing input on new items and seasonal offerings.
• Customer Service:
• Interact with customers when necessary to take special orders or provide information about baked goods.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering products that meet high-quality standards.
• Handle customer complaints and feedback professionally and promptly.
• Presentation and Display:
• Design and decorate cakes, pastries, and other baked goods to enhance their visual appeal.
• Create attractive displays of baked goods for retail or catering purposes.
• Keep up-to-date with current trends and techniques in baking and pastry arts.

Qualifications:

• Education: Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry Arts, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional baking experience, preferably in a commercial bakery or restaurant setting.
• Skills:
• Strong baking and pastry skills, with a deep understanding of ingredients, techniques, and baking processes.
• Creativity and innovation in developing new recipes and product ideas.
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?20,000.00 - ?31,898.16 per month
