• Recipe development : Creating recipes for breads, cakes, pastries, pies, cookies, and other baked goods
• Production management : Overseeing the production of pastries and breads
• Menu development : Creating new seasonal recipes and menus
• Inventory management : Ordering ingredients, supplies, and equipment, and managing inventory levels
• Food safety : Ensuring food is stored correctly, monitoring food storage, and keeping accurate records
• Kitchen sanitation : Ensuring the kitchen is clean and sanitized
• Team management : Hiring, training, and developing a pastry team
• Presentation : Arranging food on serving dishes and ensuring portion control and plate presentation
• Workplace safety : Identifying hazards and taking corrective action to ensure a safe workplace
