Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and creative Bakery Chef(DCDP) to join our team. The Bakery Chef(DCDP) will be responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods including cakes, cookies, pies, bread, pastries, and other desserts. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to create delicious and visually appealing baked items.
Key Responsibilities:
• Baking and Pastry Preparation:
• Prepare a wide range of baked goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread, pastries, and other desserts.
• Develop new recipes and ensure all products are consistent in taste and presentation.
• Quality Control:
• Ensure all baked goods meet the highest standards of quality, freshness, and presentation.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
• Inventory and Supplies Management:
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of all ingredients and finished products.
• Menu Planning and Development:
• Collaborate with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to develop and refine the bakery menu.
• Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into the menu.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to ensure efficient service and customer satisfaction.
• Train and mentor junior bakers and kitchen assistants as needed.
• Customer Interaction:
• Occasionally interact with customers to take special orders, provide product recommendations, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
• Education: Culinary degree or equivalent certification in baking and pastry arts.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Bakery Chef(DCDP) or in a similar role.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients.
• Creative flair for developing new and innovative recipes.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Capability to lift and carry heavy items.
• Manual dexterity to handle kitchen equipment and utensils safely.
Working Conditions:
• Flexible working hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• Working in a kitchen environment that may be hot, humid, and noisy.
