Job Summary:
The Bakery Assistant will support the daily operations of the bakery, ensuring that all baked goods are prepared to the highest standards of quality and freshness. This role involves assisting in the preparation and baking of products, maintaining cleanliness, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Baking and Preparation:
• Assist in the preparation of doughs, batters, icings, and other components.
• Help bake, frost, and decorate baked goods such as bread, cakes, pastries, and cookies.
• Follow recipes and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and quality.
• Customer Service:
• Greet and assist customers with their purchases, providing recommendations as needed.
• Handle transactions at the cash register, including taking payments and giving change.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and courteously.
• Inventory Management:
• Monitor stock levels of baking ingredients and supplies.
• Assist in ordering and receiving inventory, ensuring proper storage and rotation of products.
• Keep track of inventory usage and report any discrepancies to the Bakery Manager.
• Cleanliness and Hygiene:
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following all health and safety regulations.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and surfaces regularly.
• Dispose of waste and recycling appropriately.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with the bakery team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Communicate effectively with team members and the Bakery Manager regarding any issues or needs.
• Assist with training new staff members as required.
• Other Duties:
• Assist with special orders and custom baking requests.
• Participate in bakery promotions and events as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Bakery Manager.
Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Culinary or baking training preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in a bakery or food service environment is an asset.
• Skills:
• Basic baking and pastry skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Good organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and measuring ingredients.

Pay: ?8,500.00 - ?20,000.00 per month
