Structured hybrid role:

Introduction:
The person is responsible for managing GRS Production team (or in Individual Contributor Role) for Barclaycard) and would be responsible for operational / reconciliation related activities.

The responsibility spans across locations and handling various tasks including:
  • Leading and managing negotiations both internally as well as with third party banks in Processes where settlement payments are delayed (by us / other agent banks) which involves significant senior level discussions internally and externally.
  • Oversight and management of the Sub Ledger/GL/Interface reconciliation process with the goal of maximizing the reconciliation applications capabilities.
  • Provide content and people leadership to Global Reconciliation Services team and lead and motivate employees performing reconciliation related services.
  • Ensuring adherence to control environment and implementing internal controls to have a no surprise culture.
  • Play a key role in supporting Change Projects involving multiple upstream source systems and numerous IMatch instances.
  • Responsible to help the GRS meet Control and efficiency goals by implementation of appropriate business process and system changes related to reconciliations function.
  • Understands all applicable governance, compliance, risk policies and procedures.
  • The role would require supporting Change, Risk and Governance, BIA, Network Management, RCRM, and Technology teams and drive business process improvements.
  • Drive best practice across the function, providing education and technical expertise to coach and develop staff and pass on knowledge.
  • He/ She will be point of reference for technical queries related to their area/ specialization.
  • Act as day-to-day escalation point for key stakeholders and resolve complex issues and difficult situations.
  • Display integrity, initiative, and commitment through interactions with colleagues and clients.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop teams to create a high-performance culture and enhance the Knowledge base, skills, talent and capability.


What will you be doing?
  • Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Ensure seamless delivery of operations.
  • Ensure all controls are adhered to and build internal control mechanism to support the same.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions.
  • Support the manager in implementing business and change management initiatives.
  • Manage quality in own area of work.
  • Build relationship with the departments key stakeholders to ensure business needs are understood and to enhance the service offering.
  • Interface with other operational teams involved in IES process, including CALM for ILE
  • Preparation of the payment request and co-ordinating with business owners and other teams for timely processing
  • Establish clear linkages with various Barclaycard Processes
  • Conduct follow-up on the raised incident to closure.


What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:
  • At least a B Com Graduation Degree. Relevant experience for a graduate/post-Graduate and/or master\xe2\x80\x99s in business administration (MBA)
  • Flexible to work in US Shift
  • Extensive experience in managing reconciliation processes.
  • Effective oral and written communication in both formal and informal settings, and at all levels of seniority
  • Experience in Reconciliation, exception/breaks management, processing, rejection management and reporting are crucial.
  • Advanced working knowledge and understanding of Banking control framework - who can challenge, system administration including static setup, Reconciliation, breaks management and reporting processes.
  • Good technical and analytical skills relating to build and enhance reconciliation platform and reporting function.
  • Good understanding of the upstream and downstream system flow in a typical Retail, Card and investment banking environment.
  • Good understanding of reconciliations (external & internal) and related support activities (e.g., iMatch set-up and matching) and the associated front-to-back control approach.
  • Good knowledge of the Barclays businesses which GRS support, including specific knowledge of one or more of the following Corporate, Wealth & Barclaycard
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
